Bonanza Pines, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, is a 62 unit apartment building completed in 2006. This project is a podium structure; with four stories of timber framed apartment unites atop an elevated, post-tensioned, concrete podium slab with parking underneath. This is a popular form of construction for sites where space for parking in limited. In this case, an elevated, post-tensioned, slab was a good option because of its structural reliability and shallow concrete profile, which resulted in construction cost savings to the client and a shorter building height.
