Vector Structural Engineering has been in business since 2002. We provide a wide range of structural engineering services, from solar to telecom structures or bridges to custom home design. Our engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of project types across the nation and in Canada.

Structural Engineering Internship | Steel Team

LOCATION: MESA, AZ OFFICE

THE POSITION: Part-time Engineering Internship (up to 40 hours during summer)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a motivated, self-driven individual to help grow our Vector team and develop in their engineering career.

Vector Structural Engineering offers structural design services for the steel industry throughout the United States. Our team regularly designs bridges, gangways, signs, stairs, steel connections, and miscellaneous steel structures. We are seeking an individual who will add to the great team we have and is willing to support the existing team with their skills, hard work, and great attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn and apply Vector’s innovative engineering processes
  • Perform calculations and review drawings
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Complete other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with team members
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of RISA-3D preferred
  • Civil/structural engineering majors preferred, but mechanical engineering majors will be given consideration
  • Juniors, seniors, and grad students preferred
  • Ability to work legally in the United States

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for motivated, self-driven structural engineers to help grow our steel and telecommunications engineering teams. We are seeking engineers who have experience designing signs, bridges, towers, stairs, connections, and/or industrial projects.

Vector Engineers ® offers structural design services in all 50 states and parts of Canada. Engineers at Vector have the opportunity to learn different engineer disciplines and develop expertise in a wide range of industries, geographic areas, and types of construction. We are seeking individuals who will add to the great team we have and who enjoy solving problems and working with urgency and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage projects from start to finish
  • Train and develop less experienced engineers
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Perform calculations and prepare drawings
  • Complete other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-10 years engineering experience, minimum 3 years of experience in structural design of steel structures
  • Proficiency in current structural analysis software applications, such as RISA, RAM elements, Enercalc, tnxTower or LPile
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering
  • Ability to work legally in the United States

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Master’s degree in civil/structural engineering
  • Experience in structural design of concrete, aluminum, and/or FRP structures
  • Experience working with clients
